On Sunday, June 17, 11 highschool and college students headed out to our warehouse in Bridgewater, NJ to sort and pack clothing, shoes and recreational materials for children in need. All of our volunteers had their morning workout, packing over 100 boxes of goods in the course of six hours. These items will be used at several different Goods for Good project sites in Malawi and Liberia in the coming months. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for their hard work and dedication!
Alex, a high school sophomore, is volunteering in his community and school district to spread the word and garner support for Goods for Good. After traveling to Africa with his family, Alex became very interested in helping children in need. We are appreciative of the research he is conducting in his school district for excess materials and for the thousands of dollars he has raised in his community for Goods for Goods.
In early February, Melissa Kushner spoke to The Heschel School's third grade about orphans in Malawi. After learning about the children in Malawi, the third grade began a school wide drive for school materials and recreational equipment. The students collected close to 200 notebooks, thousands of writing utensils and recreational materials including balls and jump ropes. Thank you to all of the students and teachers for their hard work! See some of the pictures from their supplies drive.
The Goods for Good board, and friends of the board, got together to pack clothing and educational materials for orphans in Malawi. Goods for Good welcomed their youngest volunteer to date, Milan Kushner who was only a few months old at the time but managed to sort some of the clothing. With everyone’s help we were able to sort and pack one and a half tons of clothing in only a couple of hours. Thank you very much! see some of the pictures.
Volunteers are an integral part of Goods for Good's work. Volunteers assist with organizing and packing shipments, collecting items in their schools and communities as well as advertising Goods for Good's work among friends and colleagues.
